[#1183] Quad ESL CP, Judging at the price of your Klangfilm cable, it won. The cost to performance ratio is very high. I would say very similar performance to the lower Nordost flatline model selling $2K for a pair of 3 meters. I am curious to see how much better the higher grade Wah Gor mentioned can offer? The Nordost is good but price is dear. I may need a longer pair of 7 meters sooner or later when I start to move up the speaker position to the middle of the room. That's why I need to search for a more affordable cable at longer length.

[#1185] Quad ESL Nice party you guys had! I'm curious as to the size of the room. I'll be moving to a new house soon and plan to convert one of the smaller rooms to a listening room. Can anyone post the size of the room (sorry if I missed it in one of the posts) so at least it will give me an idea on the potential for use w/ my ESL57. Thanks, Grant

[#1191] Quad ESL Hi Patrick, Thanks for the reply. This is good news. The room I am looking at is approx 9.6' x 7.8'. May I know how far apart are the ESL's (center-to-center or inside edge-to-edge) and the distance from the listening position? Regards, Grant

[#1194] Quad ESL Dear Grant, If you could afford a room 12'x 16', do try your best, by hook or by crook. It makes your audio life much much easier! Regards from limage

[#1196] Quad ESL I'd love to come to the LP vs Open Reel shootout! __________________________________________________ doctorjohn.......................now you know where I am. Just come any time as you like. I'll leave the LP12 to Dennis' mastery. But I do have a Dual CS505 readily playable. There's a linear tracking Revox B790 which is also operable. Unfortunately I just don't know how to set the tracking wt. Any idea?

[#1197] Quad ESL mozilla Speaker positioning is very room dependant. You really have to try. Do not be pre-empted by others' examples. Nonetheless, I find the ESL pretty friendly on the width.

[#1199] Quad ESL Hi cpsjj, Actually I've had my ESL57 for a couple of years now and I'm happy w/ the setup. However, I am moving house & the room that I am looking at is smaller than my existing area. That's why I am trying to get an idea of how the ESL57's would work in this smaller room. Regards, Grant

[#1200] Quad ESL >If you could afford a room 12'x 16', do try your best, by hook >or by crook. It makes your audio life much much easier! Hi limage, Unfortunately I don't have other options. It's one of the smaller rooms that I'll convert to a dedicated listening room. Otherwise I'll have to place them in the living room again. So I'm trying to get a feel for how the ESl57 wiull work in smaller rooms. Regards, Grant

[#1201] Quad ESL Here's my ESL57 restoration job which I wrote a couple of years back. Now I have metal stands ala MAF. I guess I have to update it with new pictures. I run them w/ QII's & Fisher SA-16's. http://64.177.144.55/moz/mysystem/esl57/esl57_p1.htm
