| [#1040] Pass Labs 同好會 I am using X150.8 and previously X250.5. I have tried many power cords for my power amp from $2000 to over $10,000 including some pupular brands like Shunyata Research, Wireworld, Siltech, Cardas, Oyaide, Acrolink, DIY etc... You may not believe me that I find Zu Audio Event the best in my system. Even though the gauge size is AWG 9 (or 8 I forget) but it is relatively slim, supple and very easy to bend. I bought through bidding at eBay from Zu Audio directly at prices you wouldn’t believe possible. Now I have 5 Event PC together at less than the budget you have indicated. Have fun bidding and happy listening. Disclaimer:- I am not related to Zu Audio and not their agent, just a music lover and like Pass Labs amps very much. |

| [#1047] Pass Labs 同好會 To #1045 I have used X250.5 and Mark Levinson 380 before. My advice is to use balance XLR interconnect or else you are not allowing you amps to perform their best. Reason being BOTH X250.5 and ML380 are fully balanced internally. Happy listening. |

| [#1049] Pass Labs 同好會 To #1041-1043 X series are “high biased class AB” and XA series are pure class A. X series runs very hot even at idle and XA is even hotter. In summer time even X series can be very hot to touch. Pass Labs is not specific on stating the transition point from class A to class AB for X series. X.8 series models have higher transition point than X.5 models. Eg. X250.8 is biased into class A “deeper” than X250.5. From my research I beleive X150.8 is operation in class A mode up to about 15W. X250.8 up to about 25W and X350.8 slightly higher. Pass Labs users all know that the meter in the middle of the front panel is not indicating power output to speakers but rather power consumption of the amplifier. Under normal listening volume and with normal efficiency speakers (86-88dB/W) the meter hardly moves. When you see the meter moves then it indicates that the amp is transitioning from class A to class AB mode. The transition is seamless and you are not going to hear any difference in sound quality. Just my 2 cents. Hope this helps. |

| [#1051] Pass Labs 同好會 To #1044 To my ears and in my system Zu Audio Event for X150.8 sounds more natural, relaxing, musical, and harmonically richer than other PCs I have mentioned. Shunyata Research sounds slightly more dynamic but not as musical and relaxed. Wireworld is very good for source components expecially digital gears (I am using WW Silver Electra for my SACD player). For power amps I found WW lacking in dynamics in a big way, The musicians appear to have been staving for days before playing. Cardas Clear PC is a major disappointment. One of the worst in my system. Acrolink and especially Oyaide sound harsh and bright. Vovox is slightly better than Acrolink and Oyaide but still harsh and bright. For Siltech you have to go to at least Royal single crown if not double crown series. If you expect Classic series can give you a good glimpse of what the Royal series can offer you may be very disappointed. Again the above comment are what I have heard in my system and with my performal preference, and cannot be universally applied in all systems. You milage may varies. Happy listening! |

| [#1053] Pass Labs 同好會 MLfans THX!! 小弟家中地方细, 呢個係唯一可以放呢部機既地方. 拉出來會擋住個廳, 不可能. 個 Foundation 架好有用, 唔單止可以調音, 我亦可以揸住機架前面2隻脚慢慢拉部Pass出來同推返入去, 換線或熄大掣都好方便. 否則部機成 127 磅, 4隻脚啜地下想移動1, 2 吋極難. 所以暫時冇法拿走. 夏天有開冷氣 長遠方法: 換架, 但上面2層架有其它機, 好難唸 短期方法: 用靜音風扇, 但乜野風扇合適? 邊到買?  |

| [#1055] Pass Labs 同好會 To #1053 I have about 4” space above my X150.8 so heat dissipation should be OK. My rack is 11” and X150.8 is 7” tall (about 1.5” shorter than your X250.8) Ching you may want to look into Taoc racks. It is modular and there are 4 different lengths of rods (7”, 9”, 11” 13”) so you can customise your rack. I am also looking for a quiet fan. Currently using a small usb fan but it is too small with not enough air flow. If you can find a good fan please let me know. Cheers. |

| [#1056] Pass Labs 同好會 今日試用屋企一把舊風扇吹住最熱果到, 一面聽歌一面吹 (有開冷氣), 一個多鐘後發覺部Amp 頂部只係微暖, 一d都唔算熱, 比起之前好似煎蛋咁有天淵之別, 反而兩邊heatsink 有D熱不過可以接受, 亦好彩把老爺風算係幾靜, 相信用呢個方法連續聽4, 5 個鐘, 至多每2~3星期拉部Amp 出來掃下塵？做下清潔. 有用風扇同冇用真係差好遠.....  |
