[#5789] Leica Club bambino, All SL Vario zoom lenses are great, 90-280 is an instant classic, your photos said it all. However, the only issue is the size and weight. My 24-90 and 16-35 are my max and limit. Why did you sell you SL?

[#5790] Leica Club JC, comparing to DSLR lenses, SL zooms are just about similar size (maybe a bit bigger) but it's definitely quite heavy and very solid. of course, when they are compared to the Mirrorless counterparts, they are big & heavy especially the 90-280 zoom. i don't have the 16-35 though. i use my SL system for travel & mainly landscape photography but don't quite get enough use of them. so, decided to get ride of them. at the same time, i can downsize my system and i still have my Canon 5DsR. The 5D series has proved to be very tough cameras which survive in various adverse conditions like -36C in North Xinjiang in winter, desert in Namibia & Morocoo, and also extreme weather in Iceland. Leica PQ is excellent but i need something that gives me a peace of mind wherever i go :-) btw, i brought m240 & sony A7R to North Xinjiang in winter as well. m240 was ok but sony battery didn't work in such insane temp even though i kept it inside my down jacket. 最後修改時間: 2022-11-17 16:49:46

[#5791] Leica Club bambino, Sounds like you are a seasoned traveller and very serious photographer. Have you been to Safari to shoot animals? I think your 90-280 should get some good use there. Love to see some of your images taken in those extreme places. As I am a lazy old man who likes to shoot around cities, interesting architecture, people and etc, massive missile launcher would look funny and intimidating. My M10/SL with 28 Summaron or 35/50 APO/1.2 would be ideal for walking around.

[#5796] Leica Club rumorguy, What camera or lens do you use? I shoot with raw files and lightroom touch up into jpg files. I upload my photos to Flickr and link files from there to 相片URL.

[#5797] Leica Club #5791 "........Have you been to Safari to shoot animals? I think your 90-280 should get some good use there. Love to see some of your images taken in those extreme places........" Yes, i have been to Kenya to shoot animals and birds as well. i mostly used EF100-400 and, attached 1.4X teleconverter as times. for animals, i think 300-600mm is sufficient most of the time. when it comes to birding, 600mm at least, and i have to crop on quite a lot of these photos. hi-res camera does help but it's usually slow. i did use 5DsR to shoot birds as it's the only DSLR i have at the time. on comparison, i have to crop very heavily with 90-280 and SL body has got 24 mpx only. so, i didn't bring 90-280 to safari. the images taken in those places were mostly by Canon. since this thread is for Leica, i am hesitated to post canon images here. if it's a travel photo thread, i will have more to share with you. anyway, i remember i took some pics in North Xinjiang with m240. let me see if i still have some pics to post here. 最後修改時間: 2022-11-18 09:33:59

[#5800] Leica Club #5798 I have not been to ski for a long time, my last visit to anything with snow was Mt Fuji a few years ago. What lens did you use, 21mm? SL + 35 1.4 FLE ![]() Not sure if future camera sensor can capture temperature as well, it will be really "cool" or "hot" SL + SL16-35 Vario This is quite the opposite, almost 50C in desert, lucky the battery still working ![]() 最後修改時間: 2022-11-18 10:32:23
