If you get this pair of ESL, don't use Quad 33+303 to drive them. It's a waste.
I have both the ESL and the 33/303 combo, the performance is far inferior to any tube amp that I am using.
The MC240 is good for orchestral music but sound bit too course for vocal. Marantz 9 is excellent but bit overdone. Quad II is a perfect match but the Quad II need a good matching preamp. The preamp must have a higher output than average. The original Quad 22 is good but a good condition one is difficult to find.
I am now using a German studio amp V73 which is sweet, accurate, fast and punchy; excellent for all music but it's only 4W and definitely not enough for more complex music at higher volume.
I just got a V69a which is 25W class A and I hope it will fit better.
Anyhow, the soundstage, smoothness, quick response and openness of the ESL are so different to other box speakers that it is addictive once you have heard it.

New legs arrived and installed.
Rather light but sturdy. No more vibration on the frame as the legs now form a complete structure of the speaker. Whether they can ground the vibration is yet to be seen, or heard.

What do you think?

Do you have a picture of your choice of legs but with the legs spread out like my ESL?
Otherwise the speaker couldn't stand properly!

Declare mission complete.
With the new legs on, the bass is more focussed and bouncy, a very clear demonstration of good coupling and mechanical grounding.
Whether they are aesthetically pleasing, please comment.

This is only an experiment but so far it is successful.
The height is set at 14" which by prior experience produce the best balance of bass, image clarity and height of soundstage. The speaker is now tilted slightly backward like the stock feet but not as much. The tilting can be adjusted by shimming the centre rear leg to optimum and then a permanent leg with suitable length can be made.
I always believe a light and rigid structure strongly coupled to the ESL will be able to transmit the vibration more efficiently to the ground, like a Linn Sondek or stands for thin-walled speakers. When I touched the top of the speaker on Arcici stand in Patrick's home, the speaker rocked backward and forward. A clear sign of poor coupling as it is bolted in the middle of the frame for pivoting as well as to the lower horizontal bar which the tied to the side frame. This is too indirect.
The problem of my One Thing Audio stand is similar. The stand itself is very heavy and the speaker is tied to the top plate of the stand by a few screws. So once the speaker rocks, the moment on the screws is so large that it decouples from the stand as the screws are the weak points.
Seems so far that my belief is valid.
